Another long drive this day - not as long as the previous day, or as rough as the following day, but still a long drive. Along the way, we passed miles and miles of pineapple fields:

We also passed under several of these strange contraptions:

For a while, I couldn't figure out what those things were. They looked sort of like pedestrian bridges, but they were too small. Then it came to me. They were pedestrian bridges - for animals. A way for animals to get across the road without becoming roadkill. I had seen something similar while driving in Canada, except there, the animal crossings were tunnels under the road.

Our destination this day was Eco Termales Hot Springs. These hot springs are heated by a nearby volcano - there are several volcanoes in Costa Rica. We spent a relaxing couple of hours lounging in the pools and sipping cocktails:

Mine was non-alcoholic, of course. Someone had to drive back home.

Afterward, we had lunch at the spa restaurant:

...and then drove back to San Rafael and relaxed for the rest of the day. For dinner, having tired somewhat of Costa Rican food, we decided to have a pizza. I wondered if Costa Rican pizzas would be different from pizzas here at home, but it was much the same, although the sauce tasted slightly different. Also, it was square instead of round.
