Chocolate Cruise and Disney World

October 16 - 27, 1992

Friday, October 23

This was the last full day of the cruise, and was spent at sea. Several of the Chocolateers met in La Tavernetta for a pizza lunch:

Carol, from Oklahoma

Randy and Bonnie, a pair of pharmacists from Indiana

That afternoon's chocolate event was an ice cream social in the Galileo Night Club:

Don and Peg, and another couple whose names I've forgotten, with the remains of their ice cream

That evening was the final chocolate event of the cruise, a "Chocolate Fantasy Frolic!" In other words, a farewell party. Now, I should point out here that there had been various raffles all week, and Terry and I had not won anything so far. However, with such a small group, and with so many raffles, the odds were good that our number would come up eventually. And that night, it did. We won - that big Nestles's Crunch bar we saw a couple of days ago. Nine and a quarter pounds! It says on the wrapper "Unbelievably Big Bar!" So here we are, preparing to dig in:

...and getting ready to carry it back to our room:

I must say that carrying it around for the rest of the trip was a challenge. It took a couple of years before it was finally finished.

That night was the Roman Bachanal Night. Passengers were encouraged to wear togas. Sort of a ship-wide toga party. Many passengers got into the act; some wore sheets, others wore fancier costumes. Terry and I went to a costume shop before we left Los Angeles:

As we were leaving the dining room that night, we passed some Italian passengers who took one look at me, bowed low and said "Ave, Cesare!"

After dinner, many of the passengers were dancing in the Pucinni Ballroom, where they were also having a costume contest. I went and hung out for a while. And there was Nina, wrapped in a sheet, wearing a silly blue floppy hat, and dancing to the music - let's just say she dances as well as she sings. Still, watching her, I got the feeling that she is well aware of how well she sings - and dances - and simply doesn't care; she's just having fun:
