After visiting the exhibit hall, we took off on the El:
...for a Scandinavian neighborhood in the northern part of Chicago, where we had lunch at the Ann Sather restaurant:
We thought it was going to be a smorgasbord, and were disappointed to find that it wasn't. We took a bus back downtown.
In the afternoon, I helped tend bar at the American Council of Blind Government Employees mixer, while Terry visited with Deb Cook and Ann McCay in their room. I joined them later and we ordered pizza.
That's Deb on the floor at the left, and Ann on the footstool next to her. I don't remember who the woman in blue sitting on the bed is. The woman behind her is Deb's niece Alyse, who came along for the ride.
In the evening, Terry stayed in the hotel, while I went to Grant Park for a band concert and fireworks. The band played the 1812 overture. The fireworks were excellent, but the crush of people in the park was claustrophobic.
